Apex Theatre Studio presents Godspell at St. Augustine Amphitheatre
On Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Apex Theatre Studio will present the beloved Off-Broadway classic “Godspell” at the Backyard Stage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for limited-capacity performances with distanced seating. Tickets for Godspell will go on sale tomorrow Friday, June 4 at 10:00am at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and Ticketmaster.com. The Backyard Stage the St. Augustine Amphitheatre is presented by Intuition Ale Works.
An instant hit when it was produced Off Broadway in 1971, “Godspell” offers a variety of musical styles and theatrical formats to make the Gospel of St. Matthew accessible to today’s audiences. Its much-loved score includes the hits “Day by Day” and “Prepare Ye the Way.” The production features young artists from five area high schools including Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Atlantic Coast High School and Stanton College Preparatory School. Jake Moorehead, a rising junior at the prestigious Point Park University (Musical Theatre program), will play the role of Jesus.
Reserved seating tickets for Apex Theatre Studio’s Godspell goes on sale tomorrow, Friday, June 4 at 10am and will be available for purchase at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are sold in pre-configured pods (groupings) ranging from two to six seats per pod. Each pod is at least six feet from one to the next, and all seats within the pod must be purchased together. Additionally, all tickets are digital. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturdays from 8:30am-12:30pm, and will only accept payment via debit or credit card.
