Apex Theatre Studio presents The Glass Menagerie

Apex Theatre Studio is kicking off its twelfth season with Tennessee Williams’ classic, The Glass Menagerie, at their black box theatre from September 26th to October 9th. Recognized as an American classic, The Glass Menagerierevolutionized modern American theatre when it debuted in 1944.

“It’s incredibly exciting to introduce our young artists to one of our major playwrights,” said Ian Mairs, managing director of Apex. “This play is particularly accessible to our students as it explores a time in life when you’re figuring out where you fit in the world,” Mairs added.

The production is directed by guest artist George Judy, Gresdna A. Doty Professor of Theatre at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. The cast includes both students and faculty, with North Florida theatre veteran Cathy O’Brien taking on the role of Amanda Wingfield.

The Apex Theatre Studio mainstage performance series is sponsored in part by the St. Johns Cultural Council and the St. Johns Tourist Development Council.
