Apex presents Kindertransport (scenes)

Apex Theatre Studio will presents an hourlong presentation of scenes from Kindertransport a play Diane Samuels as well as interviews and film reels on Sunday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the black box studio space in World Golf Village.

                  Set during World War Two, Kindertransport follows the journey of Eva, a young Jewish girl fleeing Germany under the reign of the Third Reich. The Kindertransport program was an organized rescue effort from Nazi-controlled territory that took place in 1938-1939 during the nine months prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. The United Kingdom took in nearly 10,000 children. The children were places in foster homes, hostels. schools and farms. The play documents the struggles and sacrifices encountered by Eva and her family during and after the war.

                  The play features a mixture of teaching artists and students from the studio. It will be the final stop after a week of performances in school in Duval and St. Johns County.

Admission is free with a suggested donation of $12.00.
