Auditions for winter studio show: The Hamlet project (Bard Bus)

Our annual Shakespeare project, The Bard Bus, will tackle Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, Hamlet.

This fast paced (75 minute) version will tour schools and communities in January of 2022.

When are the auditions for the show? Saturday, August 28th 2021 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

What will be required at the audition? You would need to bring a one minute piece of Shakespeare and be ready to read from the script. I would provide the scenes for you to look over one week before the auditions.

Who may audition?  We will utilize a mixture of current students, alums, teaching artists and professional actors.

Can I audition for the title role? Yes. We will also interview professional actors from Atlanta and New York for this role. An understudy will be assigned and get to do a performance.

What is the commitment for the fall? You will need to commit to a total of 2 hours for the months of September, October, and November. The bulk of this will be done via Zoom with the artistic staff.  This will be broken up into two 30 minute sessions one on one sessions and one hour of table work with your scene partners.

What are the commitments for December? We will meet on Saturdays in from 1:00-3:45 p.m. at the studio on December 4^th, 11^th, and 18^th. We will take a holiday break from December 19^th– 26^th Guest artists and teaching artists will meet December 27^th-December 30^th from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the studio.  (Student attendance that week is optional)

What are commitments for January?  We will take off December 31^st-January 2^nd.  Our tech week will begin on Monday January 3^rd. We will meet January 3^rd-5^th from 4:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Our final dress meeting will be Thursday, January 6^th from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
