Apex Theatre Studio will present its seventh annual Fall Performance Showcase at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Friday, November 18 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20.00 general admission, and are on sale now online on Ticketmaster.com and at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Box Office remains closed at this time. “We are excited to feature over sixty young theatre artists from the North Florida area,” remarked Ian Mairs, Managing Director of Apex. The studio’s musical theatre workshop will present highlights from the fall musical A Year with Frog and Toad. The acting workshop will be featured in Miss Beth, a hilarious take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth set in the cutthroat world of high school cheerleading. Capping out the evening are performances from the vocal studio students. Brothers and Sisters: A Musical Revue features an assortment of songs from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows which explore family relationships from the golden era of Broadway to contemporary hits.

Cast out your cockneys and leave that stale fruit cake at home—enter a world of grits and gravy, red velvet cake, and the occasional glass of sweet tea. Eb Scrooge is a modern spin on a timeless classic captures present-day life in Northeast Florida, while maintaining the spirit of Dicken’s beloved tale of greed and redemption. It features a cast of young artists from the St.Johns county area as well as professional guest artists Andy Nance and Brooks Anne Meierdierks in the leading roles of Scrooge and Bertha.

Apex Theatre Studio will present Annie Jr. based on the beloved Broadway classic December 15 thru 17 at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Annie Jr. featureseveryone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City.

Focusing on Dickens’ powerful language, humor and warmth, this charming version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL simply and directly tells the story of the redemption of a human soul. The play follows the ever-powerful story of Scrooge, a lonely miser, who, through the help of spirits and visions from his past, present and future, finds a second chance to become a loving, generous human being. Adapted for a company of six actors, accompanied by a fiddler, the play requires a minimum of sets, costumes and props. It begins with a child reading the story for the first time. As the scenes are played out behind him, the child becomes totally caught up in the story and is finally invited by the other characters to enter the play as one of them. With traditional carols and English folk tunes creating the proper atmosphere, the world of Scrooge, Fezziwig and Tiny Tim comes alive, igniting the holiday spirit for young and old alike.
